Hi Everyone! Sorry I did not reply to you at the "other" website, didn't join there, like this one so much better! Can we continue Merrick Road Memories here?
Just incase Marrion finds this, yes Marrion, you remember correctly, I still talk alot!
OK, Merrick Rd: Where the toy store was is now Seaford Bagel. Henry's Hardware is now an Ace Hardware but I still call it Henry's!!!!! One of my favorite places to go was George's Candy Store! I cracked up reading about the lint that Paoli dumped in the empty lot next to them and the deli. I remember the lint piles!

My mom always shopped in Joes. There was a meat market in the back--I remember that! We always went in the back door--off Verity Plaza. (The things you remember!!)I think Joe's wife's name was Jane. (Is that right, Carol?) Pepe and my brother, Alby, used to play together as kids. (We all lived on Washington Avenue.) Hope to see everyone at the BIG reunion in July so we can all chat about the "good old days" in person! ~ Barbara Smith class of '77

Carol, Alby is doing well--married with lots of kids. He lives out east (Suffolk County). I still live in the house I grew up in--on Washington Ave. I have 2 daughters--one is in 11th grade in SHS, the other will be in Kindergarten in the Manor in September. Too bad you can't come to the Reunion. After not being in Seaford for 31 years, you'd see a BIG change. Seaford FINALLY has a movie theatre! Keep in touch! ~ Barbara

yes, I remember Allen La Bate. He was a nice guy. He moved away several years ago--I have no idea what happened to him. Maybe someone else reading this message board can shed some light on Allen.

didn't everybody shop at micki's mart? it was a time honored tradition to go their in August and get your jeans before school started! It is now a remax real estate office. And the kids buy their jeans at "the mall".
And next to micki's mart was a deli--West End, where I remember buying bread to feed the ducks at Tackapausha pond. You're not allowed to feed the ducks anymore.
