I watched the Colbert Report last night and Bob Mancini, the GM of the Oshawa Generals Ice Hockey team (Saginaw Michigan) was being interviewed. Does anyone know if it's the same Bobby Mancini, SHS class of '76? If I "age" his yearbook picture, it could definitely be him. Just curious.

my brother played hockey with Bobby and has followed his entire hockey career for the past 30 years (even though Bobby never played in the NHL) A shame that hockey is still that sport that nobody knows about in the schools and yet there is so much excitement at games and so many great atheletes that play. My brother Frank played goalie for Seaford back in '77; And now my brother Nick's kids play for the Baymen middle school team.

Bob Mancini was the best Ice Hockey player I played with or against. Way back in 1978 &1979 I faced him in two Seaford Alumni gammes after shutting him down in 78--I guess he tried a little harder because in 79 he scored twice on blasts that I had no chance of stopping. I followed his career from the Austin Mavericks to Colorado Collage,Ferris State Collage and his now current career as a General Manager in a Canaidian Junoir Leauge. Does Seaford High School still have a Hockey team ? Maybe we can try to get another Alumni game

Hey Frank,
Haven't seen you in a while, hope you. your wife and daughter are well. It was great to see you at Chef Mickey's a year or two ago. It is amazing how many people I see there that are alums and those who live in Seaford now. It's one of the best parts of my job! We talked about Bob when I saw you and with the info you gave me, I found him on the search as the GM of the Saginaw Spirit of the OHL. He became coach/GM during the 05-06 season and took the team to the playoffs this past year. They unfortunately got bounced in the first round of the playoffs and he is no longer with the team. That is too bad, because I considered myself to be the most "southern" fan of the Spirit and enjoyed listening to the games on the Web. I understand that he is now a developmental coach with the Edmonton Oilers and still lives in Michigan. His sister Mary is the host of a radio show in Nashville called Liberadio, and she had him on a couple of times while that whole Colbert thing was going on. Anyway Frank, if you ever make it back to Disney, come on in and say HI- stay well; Regards- TM
