For those still supporting the school system, please show up and support the hard working teachers by speaking your mind at the board meetings. Thanks for your support!

to: get another job....... you don't live with, breath with, TEACH My children at your company. We do yours at our company. Give me a break if we're asking for Your support to teach Your child. You only see them at 6pm. We know more thoughts, problems, concerns about your own kids than you. I wish I was making real corporate money, but I'd rather love my job and share laughter, watch a light bulb go off, see them smile. Don't support us if you don't want to but don't trash us either.

To: "get another" you spelled receive incorrectly and I'm sure it was no typo. You should've paid just a wee bit more attention to your teachers.

and you do not get shot at, sent into burning buildings, work in the freezing cold or the burning heat all day. If you love your jobs and are so committed to your cause then why do you need a contract? You get a paycheck every week right? Why do you all complain so much? Do you all realize you complain more than any profession in the free world? Never do we hear about ditch diggers, soldiers at war, blacktop layers, cops, firefighters, bath room attendants, 7-11 clerks complaining about their jobs or working conditions? Only L.I. Suburbia School Teachers??? ...and by the way I hate to bust your bubble "HA HA" but rather than ever listen to another crybaby teacher I will simply press the spell check button in the future? You are not as irreplaceable as you think you are! - Nobody here is knocking what you do however if you don't like your situation then do something else for a living??? but keep in mind ......The real world and or corporate world does not get tenure, summers off, or snowflake days!!!!!

i really feel sickened by those who are constantely trashing teahers are very jealous that they wish they hed better jobs, more time home with their family, and a more simple life..... "if only I had gone to school for an extra six years, I'd have summer off" leave the teacher alone... they carry the thoughts of the children of the working parent. and it is hard.

I would love to find out what some of the "bashers" do for a living and analyze their compensation program.
I am not a teacher. I am a "Corporate America" monkey. I work my tail off. 9 - 5 does not exist for me. However, I do know many teachers and have plenty of respect for the services they perform. I wonder if some of these bashers are some of the parents I hear stories about......expecting the teacher to babysit their precious angels all day...the "my kid wouldnt do that" kid. Regardless, every profession has its pros and cons. Its amazing how some of you "e-badasses" come on here and bash the teachers. Bunch of cowards. Their profession is what it is. Im sure way back when, you were somewhat familiar with the fact that teachers got summers off (also probaby didnt realize that many have to work over the summers to make ends meet), but that doesnt matter to you because you have to work. If you wanted time off over the summers, or a snowflake day, you should have become a teacher. Also, I never understood the "overpaid" argument. Making high 5 figures / low 6 figures after 20 years hardly qualifies as overpaid....regardless of summers off. In comparison, I was making well over 6 figures within 5 years after college graduation. I give our teachers alot of credit.....from the stories I hear, I personally wouldnt last a week as a teacher....and this is coming from someone who deals with sharks, crazy $$$ deals, and plenty of aggressive personalities on a daily basis. So, if I was to sum up this post / rant, I would say to the "bashers" to STFU, play your own game, and perhaps one day, you might be successful.

Teachers deserve all the support we can give them. After all, we trust them with our children. We also require our Teachers to have a Masters Degree. A Masters Degree is very expensive. Like any job that requires a Masters Degree, we need to compensate these employees for their hard work and the money they spent to get the Masters Degree. A great place to rant about Teachers Pay and Property Tax issues is at LI School Rant www.lischoolrant.com

Thanks for the long winded lecture Hank, Even though you missed the point completly??? The reason you do not know what I do for a living or how much money I make is because I am not posting complaints about it on a Alumni Website !!!!! Now go call your teacher wife or teacher cousin (probably the same person) and have a nice day -I come on this site for Reunion info and have to read about teachers complaining??? This "E-Bad-Ass will be at the Alumni Lax game on Sat May 10th - come on bye and say hello tough guy!! Im giving you your chance?

zzzzzzz: WAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH
Sorry I missed you "calling me out" hahahaha
Typical e-toughguy. Probably watched the lax game from the sidelines.
If you came on to read about reunions, why did you click on a thread titled "Teachers working without a contract"?
Looks like I rattled a nerve......probably because I was right.

This is what I have to say to you anti union people out there.Your entitled to your opinion but remember this do you have at your job medical coverage, paid vacation a pension plan ? If the answer to any of these is yes then someone died fighting for those union rights years ago so you could enjoy them.Do not ridicule these teachers. Seaford has always had the best in educators if Mr.McIntyre were alive today would you stand before that man and tell him he does not deserve a contract ,I think not!I have lived in Brooklyn,Amityville,Florida and in Central New York State and if you could see what's teaching today you would be darn glad to have the quality teachers S.H.S. has.
