Perry,
I played back up second baseman on the 1982 Seaford Varsity, couldn't beat out Mike Cannata and was never the same after that. I can deliver the whole left side of the infield plus Patrick Hashimoto.

Perry,
I propose we have a pre-July 17th reunion stickball game in the Junior High Parking Lot. Anyone that plays can get an automatic starting position for the baseball game we are going to play next spring. What do you say?

Sabs,
I'll be on vacation from July 5th thru the 20th, can't play any stick any time soon, but would second the motion to play plenty of stick when I get back. I'm still looking for my 1000th career HR. Last August, Me, Greg M, Scotty G, Chris Y played a reunion stickball game-- it was a blast. What is your address? I want to mail you some Baseball reunion flyers that I made up. They will be available at the "all-year" as well. You better tell Enzo, Ira, Vito and them that they better show up!

Tucci,
I received the flyers for the Alumni Game, well done. I am confident we can drum up a great deal of support for this game beyond just Enzo, Rocco and Mr. Antonelli.
Here are somemore details we need to consider:
1. We want ambience in this game which is why we need a PA system and of course an announcer-- Here is my short list of announcers for the game: a. Ralph Rossetti b. Mr. Conlon c. Mr. Bongiovi d. Duke- If he cant play due to back trouble
2. We also need someone to throw out the opening ball-- Here is my short list-
a. Wayne Garrett- We could get him to come to our Seaford little dinners back in the mid 70's, I'm sure we can get him again
b. Ed Kranepool- Same argument c. Ty Wigginton-- Listen the Mets were good back then and we could get guys, it shouldnt be any problem getting a current Met d. ANy Seaford Old-Timer
The other thing we want is a post-game bbq and drink-up at the field. You're in the board of ed. grease some palms to get those Rent-A-Cops off our backs
Uniforms-- Do we have the Astro derivative jerseys stashed away anywhere?
I also say we invite all the old-time Seaford Little League Dads-- to the game as well to be honorary coaches.
Look forward to your response, Keep the dream alive

Perry,
I agree with Ira about the Post-Game festivities. If you got cut can you still attend the "drink-up".

Look forward to meeting Enzo, Mr. Antonelli and Ira. Maybe we can convene a planning meeting for the reunion baseball game. Maybe we can get some stick in as well.

Sabs-
Finished up a 22 hour drive from Fla yesterday, never made it to the "all year" How was it? Did you go? Were my flyers handed out?
Ira-
Excellent ideas, we should definately involve coaches in this affair. I was thinking about contacting Jim Norris, who I believe is the only Seaford grad to get more than a cup of coffee in the bigs, he started for the Indians in RF for few years in the '70's.

Perry,
The reunion was great, I really enjoyed seeing Rocco, John and Enzo in the flesh. Let me tell you something Perry, these Men are in excellent condition and could handle the rigors of playing a seven inning baseball game against 17 year old kids, especially Enzo.
A game actually almost broke out with some of our youngsters. My son Vincent had a catch with Bob Germano's son Michael as well as Dandy Dan Murphy up on the baseball field. If we had the equipment I think it could have happened. We also saw our esteemed baseball coach Joe Fasanello who took the Seaford Little League to the county finals back in 81.
Let's keep the pressure up now more than ever.

I will be contacting the coaches as soon as the school year starts in September. We will pick a date for the spring. I have a number of guys who have contacted me and want to play. All the guys are early '80's guys. I will contact you for a reunion stickball game in late August

Perry,
I understand there was a time when the mid 80 players took a day sabbatical to the North Shore to sit and reflect on the baseball year and also look forward to improving our game for next year. I was wondering if a guy I think was named the "Duke" would be interested in revitalizing this tradition.

Rocco,
I think I can help you out with this one. The North Shore run, in it's later years, was disorganized, poorly run, and slowly became not worth the time and effort of all it's preparing. Yes, the event was like the Roman Empire in it's early years. But like the Roman Empire, it's leader became careless and lost his mind- (eggs cracked and poured directly into a hot pan before even being whipped up for scrambling) I do know, however, that the North Shore run has been replaced by a traditional Holiday dinner in NYC, and that has been going strong for the past decade. I know that Perry has tried to attend this event many times, and one day he will. I will get in touch with him, as well as the Duke, and maybe we can arrange a North shore breakfast to preclude a stickball game.

Duckman,
I appreciate your insights into the fall of the North Shore run and the Roman Empire analogy. But remembers this, the Italic penninsula had a Renaissance a couple of hundred years later, if they can, so can we. There was a time when you once tried to invoke a coupe d'etat against the founder and crew chief, the Duke, we have to revisit that notion if we are going to resurrect this thing.
