Hi SHS Classmates of '76, As Joe mentioned, we will be deciding details for our 30th reunion next month (Sept. '05). We would like to plan a full weekend of activities. Any suggestions you might have for restaurants, bars, parks, etc. are welcomed. Our thought is to have adult get-togethers at night, including the official reunion, and then plan some family time during the day - maybe a picnic at a park or something along those lines. Any ideas? We also thought we'd try to keep things as close to Seaford as possible. Any and all suggestions are appreciated. Nothing has been decided yet and we'd LOVE to have some input. This should be a blast! Thanks in advance. Pat Norton-White

For a family event, how about a BBQ at Seaman's Neck Park? We could rent a large BBQ pit from a local rental center and cook up some hamburgers and hot dogs. I'm sure there are enough of us out there who would volunteer to cook.

Hi Joel,
How are you? Great suggestion - this is exactly the kind of input we need! Our thought is that as long as we're all down on L.I. why not spend more than just a few hours together?
I'll keep track of suggestions and we will try to come up with a working agenda next month.
Thanks!
Pat

If you going to have a picnic then go all the way. With sack races, blind mans bluff and those mexican things you hang up and you hit with a stick(cant think of name) kids love them.Whiffle ball is alot of fun and many people can play. Then there is always the old stand by of different contest like who lives the most miles away , who gained the most , who has the most kids, that kind of thing.Have some cheap trophys made up.Dont forget no picnic is complete without a cherry pie eating contest. You can just have slices and see who eats it the fastest.Something I use to do was have kite battles. You get some kites and try to knock each other out of the sky. When it gets dark have some balloons and tie lite sticks to them.It looks like a UFO in the sky and the kids go nuts over it. One lite stick needs about 3 or 4 balloons depending on size. You can even tie a lite stick to a kite tail and fly the kites at dusk.If you have alot of young kids, someone can dress up in a funny outfit or just hire someone to do some magic tricks for them(maybe 50.00 tops). Most important NO BANDS. They end up being too loud and people are there to talk about what they have been doing and old times. A dj is nice but a boom box does just as well and you can save the money. Dont forget tiolet paper. Those park bathrooms are always in need.No need to mention, but if your going to have drinking.Make sure anyone who does is staying overnight and has a place to stay. One thing I forgot. Eggs. You can have egg races where people have to carry them in a sthingy or pass them to each other without hands. The kids can have an egg rolling contest.Dont forget prizes for the kids.
