Hi... I apologize for the blatant plug, BUT...I did think some people here might be interested... A book I wrote about my brother Jim was just published, called THE GIFTS OF JIMMY V. It is intended as a humourous, hopefully inspiring story that has many people's voices represented...bob costas, mike krzyzewski; some seaford people like Harry Curtis, and many others...it has been well received so far, and thought maybe some on here would have interest in it. It is available at Barnes and Noble or on line at Amazon or Barnes and Noble.com. Hope you like it...happy holidays to all!!!

Loved your brother....I went to Iona when he coached there. I moved to Cary, NC and supported him in NC State. He ate at my resturant many times and I had him speak at the opening of the Cary Lab for IBM. I went to the same chuch as Jimmy...and when he passed away I cried for a week. I would love a copy of your book...is it available on-line? How is his family doing...the girls must be out of college by now! Jimmy did just that.

Bob:
after reading your post, I went to Barnes & Noble and purchased your book. After a few hours i'm halfway through it and I think it is excellent! i remember your father around the high school and being involved in sports teams around seaford. I believe I played babe ruth baseball for him around 1965 or so, but i may be mistaken. The mind is not as sharp as it used to be!! The quotes and stories about coach curtis brought back many memories of playing football for seaford in '67 and '68. You're right, he was strict!! But it made us better players. Between him and coach vartuli, wow, i think i could still find their cleat marks on me if i looked hard enough. Thanks again for a great book.

Greetings!
I was a classmate of Jim and remember many moments of his compassionate humor, as well as that of his father, our physical education instructor and motivator.
Those were wonderful times.
