Hi Sari and Marion,
Marion thanks for the information about Linda. How tragic. I'm truly saddened to hear of her death.
Sari, my mom still lives in the smae house in Seaford. My Dad's death has been very difficult for her. She's dealing with it, but it has been rough.
I also don't know much about what is going on in Seaford. I left for college and then never went back to live on L.I. This board is a wonderful opportuity to catch up with so many people I still think about and care about.

Hi Kathy!
It is wonderful to hear from you! I do not know where Pat Leon is, but Grace Kelly is remarried and has a little boy. I believe she lives in Virginia. My sister still lives on LI and lives right around the block from Gracie's sister Patti. Mr. Kelly also stays in touch with my Mom and visits whenever he is in NY. I saw Mike Kelly at my father's funeral in March 2003. He has 4 or 5 kids whom his wife home schools, is a fireman, and lives on LI. It was great visiting with him. Quite a few of the old Maple Street gang came to show their respects, as did Tom Cronin. It really meant a great deal to me.
I know what you mean about feeling old - I have one daughter in college and the other will be a junior in HS this year. It feels like yesterday that we were that age :-) I'm still upstate - hiking, riding and raising horses. I teach 11th grade English, so in a sense, I never left high school ;-) Where are you living? Do you see anyone else from school? I see Marie Prowse all the time. Ironically, we live near each other in Dealaware Count and our kids are involved inthe same horse organization. We went from SHS horseback riding club to our kids riding together. It truly is a small world!

Hi Kathy, I'm sorry to hear about your loss. It is so painful. It has been hard for me to adjust to my father's death. I always knew about raising kids and how much work it would be, but I wasn't prepared for how demanding helping aging parents would be. Losing my father was difficult emotionally, but helping my mother adjust to life without him has been even more challenging. She's adjusting slowly, but it has been a challenge for her and our entire family. And then there are teenagers - today is my youngest daughter's 17th birthday. I'm taking her and a friend to spend the day shopping in Albany. It should be fun, but expensive! What state are you thinking about moving to? I'm such a homebody - my mom is still in our house in Seaford and I'm in our summer house upstate. Moving sounds exciting, but I've never really experienced it. Do you have Tom Cronin's email address? I had it, but lost it when my computer crashed. Could you send it to me if you do have it? My email address is connemara at dmcom.net I'd love to hear from you again. Take care. Love, Patti Ann

Hi Kathy,
I understand about feeling like a certain place is truly "home". I live in Bloomville, NY. My parents have had our property here since 1966. I've always known this is where I wanted to live. It is rural, not too prosperous economically, but the mountains, streams, and wildlife make up for all of that, as far as I'm concerned. My dad always would tell me how much money I'd be making if I would have stayed on LI or worked in NYC - to him that made you more successful. I might have had more money in the bank, but I would have been miserable. Today I rode my horse for two hours , hiked, saw all kinds of wildlife (deer, skunk, blue heron, hawk, etc.) , and visited a friend's get-away-cabin in a secluded off road location! I also spent several hours with friends who are as passionate about riding, nature, and animals as I am. I say go for it girl! Life is too short not to live everyday like its your last! Let me know how things work out for you. Good luck!

Hi Kathy, I agree - this has brightened up my day! We had so many good times together I understand about knees. I rarely ski anymore because my left knee has a hard time holding up. I still am bothered in my knee from the time I hurt it at an away football game. Someone from the other school got hurt falling off the hood of a car. Ambulances came, etc. I was running to see what happened. I ran right into a metal piece sticking out of the bleachers. The worst part was when they stopped the football game and Mr. Kelly carried me across the field to the ambulance (I am still embarassed about that!) I was supposed to stay off of my leg for 6 weeks, but I walked all over town on crutches (down in your neighborhood...) It's never been right. 30 years later I'm still paying the price for not wanting to miss anything that was going on on Mattituck Ave.. and the Kelly's basement But, I'd do it the same all over again. Those days were great! Love, Patti Ann

Hey Joe! How are you? Good to hear from you I'm doing well. I'm still living upstate. I like to kid that I never got out of high school - I teach eleventh grade English. And I have to say that I truly I love it. I still have horses and love to ride and hike. I've been married for 22 years to my husband Ron and have two teenage daughters, Heather and Melissa. My oldest is going into her second year of college. Hard to believe. It sometimes seems like yesterday that we were planning the senior trip to Fernwood Where on the Island are you living? Do you see any of our classmates? Hope all is well with you too. Pat

Hi Joyce,
How are you? Linda Ward is the Linda who passed away. Still hard for me to comprehend...
I'd also like to know if any reunion is in the works. Does anyone know?
